Are there specific system requirements for the Pellergy retrofit systems?

Yes. Pellergy is preparing a checklist for our certified installers that will serve as a pre-installation guideline. In short, your existing system must be well maintained to the most recent boiler or furnace code, it must be oil fired and have a minimum sized firebox based on the firing rate required for your heating needs. The existing boiler must also be connected to an approved residential chimney and provide a minimum draft for our burners. Most installations currently using oil to fire their boilers will be sufficient for a Pellergy wood pellet retrofit. Our certified installers will be able to audit your system prior to purchase to insure compatibility.
